Cut Knife Report – July 7 -20
The Cut Knife RCMP detachment responded to a total of 77 calls for service during the week of July 7 to 13. These calls spanned a wide range of incidents, reflecting the detachment’s ongoing commitment to community safety and public service. These files included well-being checks, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assault, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Acts, suspicious person, theft, Liquor Act, assisting other agencies, uttering threats, 911 Act and trafficking.

On July 8, the Cut Knife RCMP received a backline call reporting a 46-year-old woman as missing. As officers initiated an investigation into her whereabouts, the individual contacted the detachment directly to confirm she was safe.
On July 8, RCMP members executed a search warrant at a residence on Little Pine First Nation, following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking activity involving 46-year-old Steven Nighttraveller and Isaiah Pewapisconias. During the search, officers arrested three other individuals and seized a quantity of illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, cash, a rifle and ammunition. This file is still active in the court system. The RCMP remains committed to addressing drug-related crime and ensuring the safety of the community.
On July 9, RCMP members responded to a report of an assault involving a 58-year-old woman who was allegedly struck on the head by a 41-year-old individual in the town of Cut Knife. Following the initial investigation, a warrant was issued for Jocelyn Laroque’s arrest. The RCMP continues to investigate the incident and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
Four traffic stops were made, resulting in a speeding ticket, a warning, a traffic collision and impaired charges. RCMP continue to prioritize road safety and remind drivers to obey posted speed limits, avoid impaired driving and remain alert behind the wheel. Members responded to four alarm calls, all of which were investigated. No immediate threats were identified.

Cut Knife Report – July 14 – 20

These files included well-being checks, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assault, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act, suspicious person, theft, Liquor Act, assisting other agencies, uttering threats, 911 Act and trafficking.

On July 14, Cut Knife RCMP received a call of shots being fired. Members attended the location and determined the shots being fired were for rodent extermination. All individuals involved had valid PALS and were following all Firearms Acts and regulations. No further investigation was required and all parties were satisfied.
On July 20, Cut Knife RCMP received a call about a 48-year-old female who had been assaulted. Members attended and arrested a 52-year-old male for assault and failing to comply with conditions. The male also had outstanding warrants and was held for court. This file is still active in the court system.
On July 20, Cut Knife RCMP were doing proactive traffic when they stopped a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old female, was arrested for failing to comply with release order conditions, driving while suspended and outstanding warrants. The female was held for court. This file is still active in the court system.

The Cut Knife RCMP detachment responded to a total of 71 calls for service during the week of July 21 to 27. These calls spanned a wide range of incidents, reflecting the detachment’s ongoing commitment to community safety and public service. These files included well-being checks, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assaults, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act, suspicious person, thefts, Liquor Act, assisting other agencies, uttering threats, 911 Act and indecent acts.

On July 21, Cut Knife RCMP were doing proactive traffic stops. They stopped a vehicle, where the 38-year-old driver provided a “Fail” sample into the roadside screening device. She was arrested for impaired operation and subsequently refused to provide samples of her breath. She was charged with refusal and released for court. This file is active in the court system.
On July 24, Cut Knife RCMP attempted to stop a truck being driven by a known, unlicensed driver. The vehicle fled to a residence and the driver ran into the bush. The driver was not located; however identified and a warrant for his arrest was issued. This file is still under investigation.
On July 25, Cut Knife RCMP received a report of damage to a vehicle in Cut Knife. A van on Broad Street had its windshield smashed sometime overnight. If anyone has any information on this occurrence, please contact Cut Knife RCMP. This file is still under investigation.

Little Pine Barbecue hosted by the Prevention Team was attended to by off-duty and on-duty members on July 22.
On July 23, Cut Knife RCMP officers and admin staff joined Cut Knife residents at the Duval House for the afternoon coffee and tea gathering that was hosted.
Cut Knife Report – July 28 – Aug. 3
Cut Knife RCMP received 64 calls for service between July 28 to Aug. 3. These files included well-being checks, reports of disturbances, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assault, assault with weapon, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act, fire, theft of vehicle, sexual assault, break and enter, Liquor Act, animal call and assisting other agencies.

RCMP members responded to a report of a 28-year-old female allegedly under the influence of methamphetamine attempting to stab a 46-year-old individual. Officers arrived promptly at the residence and arrested the suspect without further incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Later the same day, members were alerted by an off-duty officer regarding a forcible confinement incident. Two females had reportedly been held against their will by multiple individuals at a residence. After escaping, they sought refuge at a nearby home, where the off-duty member assisted them and contacted authorities. Both victims sustained injuries and received primary care from RCMP members while awaiting EMS. An arrest was made at the residence where the confinement occurred. The matter remains under active investigation.
RCMP responded to a call at a local gas bar where a 37-year-old female was assaulted by a 34-year-old female. Upon arrival, officers observed fresh blood at the scene and damage to a display case. The suspect fled in a black Dodge vehicle following the assault. After investigating, RCMP members issued a warrant for the arrest of the 34-year-old suspect.
Thirteen traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings and roadside suspensions. Members responded to one alarm.

On July 31, the Cut Knife detachment hosted another “Work out with a Cop”. The division Fitness Services Team came and showed the fitness test for all participants in attendance.
