UCHS students tee off at provincial golf

Sixth consecutive year at SHSAA Provincial Golf Tournament allows UCHS golfers to show their Warrior pride.

UNITY — The senior golf team at Unity Composite High School demonstrated sportsmanship and skill during the BattleWest Districts Golf tournament on Sept. 15 at Jackfish Lake.

This year’s team consists of Nash Sperle, Ethan Stifter, Caden MacDonald, Kendall Krpan, Jade Bast and lone female Danielle Bowker.

After playing during ideal weather, all UCHS athletes finished within the top 10, with Nash claiming the bronze medal and Danielle earning a fourth-place finish.

They advanced to the SHSAA provincials this past weekend, held at Harbour Marine and Golf Club near Elbow.  This is the sixth consecutive year the high school has sent athletes to compete.

There were over 90 golfers in attendance from all over the province.  The weather was co-operative, and Sperle was able to score 175 after two rounds, which placed him in the top 25.  Bowker was not as fortunate, however enjoyed meeting new friends.
