Wilkie and Macklin out of provincials, league semifinal series tied at 1-1

League semi-finals are the focus for Wilkie and Macklin after being eliminated from provincial playoff contention

WILKIE —  There are no Sask. West Hockey teams left in provincial playoffs. Wilkie Outlaws lost two straight games to the Hafford Hawks in a best-of-three series. A combination of injuries and fatigue from multiple playoff game weekends contributed to the losses.

The Mohawks opened their provincial series against the Kenaston Blizzards and were split at a game apiece, in a best-of-three series, with game three Feb. 27.  However, game three resulted in a 5-2 loss, eliminating the Mohawks from provincial playoffs.

The Mohawks, in SWHL playoffs, are in the league semifinal against the Edam 3 Stars and are currently split at a game apiece with March 4, 5 and 6 holding the remaining three games of this best-of-five series. Fans are getting plenty of exciting game action from the senior Mohawks in both provincial and league playoffs.

The Outlaws, now eliminated from provincials, are focusing on their semifinal series of the SWHL. Playing the Kindersley Klippers, the series is tied at a game apiece in a best-of-five series. The remaining three games are set for March 1, 6 and 9.

Winners of these series will play off for the league final.
