WILKIE ‑ Dylan Gillespie of the Wilkie Fire Department provides these details on activity by their team for the month of October.
They had four calls for service, which included one vehicle versus semi collision, two alarm calls and one vehicle fire.
Oct. 5, WFD participated in wildland fire training and Oct. 19, they participated in prerequisites for vehicle extrication training.
In their continued commitment to engage with the community, WFD members handed out Halloween candy in the town office Oct. 31.
Fire Prevention Week consisted of a visit to the elementary school as well as a tour of the fire hall with elementary children.
This division of Wilkie’s fire protection services welcomes new members and interested parties are encouraged to contact anyone on the WFD or inquire at the town office.
