Beryl Grace Gysi

The family of Beryl Grace Gysi (Clark) announces her passing on August 15th, 2025 in Swift Current, SK, at the age of 90.

Beryl was born June 19th, 1935, in Coronach, SK to Harold and Olive Clark. A vibrant and stylish woman, she lived life with energy and grace. She is lovingly remembered by her son Warren Gysi; daughter Mani Tougas (Dan); brother Darryl Clark; sister Carol Warnke (Chuck); sisters-in-law Diane Clark and Joan Krushelniski (Bill); grandson Gabriel Tougas (Mikaela Hoeppner); former husband Marshall Gysi; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Olive Clark; brothers Bobbie Clark and Donnie Clark; sister Eunice Laufer; brother-in-law Carl Laufer; sister-in-law Jane Clark; and her partner Gerry Clark.

Beryl began her career teaching at Little Woody one-room school before working at the STC bus depot. She later became a flight attendant, where she embraced her love of travel.  She met and married Marshall Gysi, and together they raised two children. Their life together took them around the world—living in Thailand, Switzerland, and the United States—before eventually settling on an acreage near Calgary, AB.  After 25 years of marriage, Beryl and Marshall went their separate ways.

In later years, Beryl shared her life with Gerry Clark in Calgary, where they enjoyed retirement, explored entrepreneurial ventures, visits with family, and many memorable trips, especially to Swift Current to stay with Chuck and Carol.

Known affectionately as the “high-heeled Aunty,” Beryl brought a spark wherever she went.  She enjoyed family, travel, and adventure, always carrying herself with elegance and warmth.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cypress House in Swift Current, as well as Dr. Khosa and Dr. Sarafin, for their kindness and care.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Coronach Cemetery, Coronach, SK. Linda Kirby presiding, Urn Bearer grandson Gabriel Tougas and Tribute presented by nephew Randy Clark.
