It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Alexander Campbell, who left this world on June 23, 2025, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the tender age of 31. Born on November 30, 1993, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jason touched the lives of many during his time on this earth. He is survived by his wife, Larissa Campbell, his loving parents Shelley Campbell and Todd Hagblom; his cherished "Gma" Irene Campbell; cousins Raylene, Samantha and their children Kyler and Colten Campbell, along with numerous other family members and countless friends who were enriched by his kindness and warmth.
Jason's life was characterized by an unwavering love for his family and an innate ability to bring joy to those around him. Preceded in death by his extended family members Cheryl Johnson (nee) Campbell, Alex Campbell, Cliff Isaacson and Anita Hagblom, Jason's spirit remains a beacon of light in the lives of those he leaves behind.
A kind-hearted and selfless young man, Jason adored his family dearly. His love for his wife Larissa, whom he married on July 22, 2023, was evident to all who knew them. The couple shared a passion for cosplay, regularly crafting extravagant costumes that showcased their creativity and talent. Together, they became well-known figures in the cosplay community, captivating audiences and fellow fans alike.
In addition to his love for cosplay, Jason had a special affinity for animals, particularly his beloved cats and his family dogs in Saskatoon. He found joy in working with various animals, showcasing his nurturing spirit. His time spent at the Saskatoon Children's Hospital was especially meaningful; he brought laughter and happiness to sick children by dressing up as the Joker, alongside his friend Sebastian, who portrayed Batman. This noble endeavor allowed him to witness the pure joy he could bring to others, and he devoted his time to supporting the Children’s Wish Foundation, contributing to the smiles of every child he met.
Jason’s sociable nature meant he had an expansive network of friends, far and wide. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone was a testament to his charismatic personality. In 2015, at the age of 21, Jason moved to Edmonton with dreams of starting his own family and crafting a beautiful and meaningful life. He held various jobs in the city, but his fondness for working with exotic animals and in restaurant kitchens stood out. He found joy in cooking for family and friends, often insisting they stay out of the kitchen while he created new dishes, a testament to his dedication and creativity.
As we remember Jason, we celebrate the love, laughter, and countless memories he has left behind. He is embarking on a new adventure, and while he will be missed deeply by all, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit continues to shine brightly.
A wake will be held July 30 @ 2:00 pm at 2837 Melrose ave in Saskatoon, where family and close friends can gather to pay their respects and celebrate Jason's incredible life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Saskatoon Children's Wish Foundation in Jason's memory, helping to fulfill the wishes of children in need, just as Jason did during his time with us.
Rest in peace, dear Jason. May your journey ahead be filled with all the joy you brought to others. Your legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
