Marie Koturbash: 1941-2025

With sadness, we grieve the passing of Marie Koturbash at home in Saskatoon on June 30, 2025.

Marie was born to William and Valeria Koturbash on October 19, 1941 in Canora, Sk.   Early life was spent on the family farm In the Dobrowody district north east of Rama  She began school at Dobrowody rural and completed high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Yorkton.  After obtaining a diploma in Business Administration she worked for SaskPower until illness compelled early retirement. She lived a private and solitary life in her home in Saskatoon.

Marie loved life on the farm. During her summer vacations, she enjoyed gardening and long walks with her dog. She kept up with current events and even from a young age, kept subscriptions to a variety of news periodicals.  Marie was inquisitive, intelligent, and enjoyed reading. She was a prolific writer, keeping detailed journals of events in her life. Marie was predeceased by her parents, and an infant brother, Oryst.  She is survived by brothers Larry (Helen) and Ihor(a.k.a. Nick) (Joyce) along with nephews and nieces.

Interment of her cremains will be at the Dobrowody Ukrainian DBVM Catholic Church cemetery on Monday, August 25th at 1.00 pm with Fr. Ivan Simko officiating. Lunch and time for fellowship will follow. Friends are welcome to attend.
