An indeterminate sentence is appropriate. There are some people who are not re-habitable. Whatever his unfortunate circumstances, society does not owe him anything else at this point. He has abused every privilege he has ever been given.

STOP this non-sense about another indoor pool! People who want a pool should be fund raising. Please direct funds to cleaning up North Central, revitalizing the Downtown and road repair! Ridiculous!

Glad to see the police are continuing to seize drugs off the street and sorry to hear of 4 deaths due to overdose. I am also happy to hear about harm reduction initiatives, however, those initiatives do nothing to move the person to a healthier place. I would strongly encourage those who are involved in harm reduction to also encourage people to get clean and sober! There is a great, big, beautiful life out there! Addiction is a living death! If you can\t get into a treatment center to withdraw and get clean, please consider going to NA or AA! There is hope! There is Freedom!

This is something we need to bring before our Federal Government Candidates! We need justice reform alright...we NEED the justice system to focus on protecting the public. Right now it is too focused on offender "rights". If you kidnap a child or murder someone you should not see the light of day - ever. I believe we can find some useful purpose for people who can't be rehabilitated, just not in the public. AND we do need to increase funding and support for rehabilitation, including insisting those who are released go to work! I don't care if it is Tims or McDonalds! It is time we see some of our former offenders becoming productive members of society rather than continuing to allow them to reoffend, while immigrants to take all the entry level jobs.

This is ridiculous! Regina needs to aggressively deal with cleaning up those neighbourhoods and getting drug addicts off the street and out of these neighbourhoods. There is no reason for this nonsense! Landlords who neglect their residences should have their properities seized and bulldozed.

Thanks for this! As a returning member to the City of Regina, I have noticed that there appears to be a significant increase in property crime. I expect this is directly tied to the drug issue. I am deeply concerned that we have allowed North Central to become to ghetto/garbage dump it has. I used to live in that neighbourhood and while it has always been rougher, I am shocked by the state the City and the Province has allowed it to become. I feel dismayed because it seems that we continue to see lesser and lesser sentences handed out for serious crimes. Often murderers are back on the street within 4 years with absolutely NO rehabilitation. We need a serious revamp of the justice system and a return to protection of the public and increased funding toward rehabilitation and training for offenders. Crimes like murder, drug trafficking and violent crime need to be met with serious consequences. If someone is not willing to change their ways, jail has to become a permanent residence.
