REGINA - Here is the latest wildfire update from Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency on the situation in Saskatchewan as of Monday July 14.
As of 11:00 a.m. Monday there are 55 active wildfires in the province. Of those four are categorized as contained, 12 not contained, 21 ongoing assessment and 18 are protecting values.
So far in 2025 the province has had 369 wildfires, above the five-year average of 260.
Eight communities are under an evacuation order: Resort Subdivision of Lac La Plonge, La Plonge Reserve, Northern Village of Beauval, Jans Bay, and priority individuals from Patuanak/English River First Nation, Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Northern Village of Pinehouse and Canoe Lake Cree First Nation.
As of last night, July 13, Kinoosao is no longer under an evacuation order and those evacuees will be returning home today.
SPSA is reporting the province has approximately 1,700 evacuees at this time, 1,200 supported by the SPSA in hotels or staying with friends and family.
A fire ban in still in place to the north of the provincial forest boundary up to the Churchill River. Any open fires, controlled burns and fireworks in the designated boundary are prohibited and the ban includes provincial parks, provincial recreation sites and the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District within the boundary.
