REGINA - The Saskatchewan legislature was back in action Monday as they hit the home stretch of their spring sitting.

MLAs are back for the final five weeks of the session as they finish off the remaining legislation before the Leg before they head back to their contituencies in mid-May.

It is expected jobs, the economy and health care will be the main focus for the remaining five weeks of the sitting. Already, the Sask Party Government has passed a number of their signature measures this sitting, including the budget, the Saskatchewan First Act, and the Saskatchewan Firearms Act,

The spring sitting resumes on a somber note, as Premier Scott Moe and other MLAs and community members attended the memorial service on Saturday at Conexus Arts Centre of Derek Meyers, MLA for Regina Walsh Acres. There are three vacant seats in the Legislature that will need to be filled through byelections.

While the Leg returns this week, government ministers are going to also be preoccupied with the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention happening at TCU Place in Saskatoon. Premier Scott Moe addressed delegates on Monday and cabinet ministers are scheduled to attend a bearpit session Wednesday morning.
