Severe thunderstorm watch for Regina and southeast

REGINA — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the City of Regina and southeast Saskatchewan.

The watch was issued at 1:05 p.m. Monday and includes the cities of Estevan and Weyburn. The area extends into Manitoba and to the U.S. border.

According to Environment Canada, "Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Potential hazards include wind gusts to 90 km/h or higher; up to quarter-sized hail."

The time span is expected to be this afternoon and evening.
