SASKATOON — It was a no-go for the Gold Ball again on Saturday night’s Lotto 6/49 draw. The April 12 jackpot now sits at a whopping $62 million dollars – and there’s a one-in-four chance that it’ll be awarded this Wednesday.

The Gold Ball jackpot has rolled since January 7; that’s 26 draws for anyone counting. Each Lotto 6/49 draw, one Gold Ball selection is drawn from among all selections issued across the country. If the Gold Ball draw results in a white ball, the winning selection wins $1 million. If it’s the Gold Ball, the full jackpot amount is awarded!

Each $3 Lotto 6/49 ticket comes with one six-number selection (Classic Draw) and one eight-digit number followed by a two-digit trailer (Gold Ball draw). That’s two chances to win on every ticket!

A little Lotto 6/49 history:

  • If Wednesday’s jackpot is won, it will be the third-largest LOTTO 6/49 jackpot win ever, and the second-largest won by a single ticket.
  • October 2015 – the largest ever win, a $64 million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot, was won by a ticket issued in Ontario.
  • April 2013 – a $63.4 million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot was shared by four tickets (three issued in British Columbia and one issued in Alberta).
  • October 2005 – the largest Prairie win, a group of gas and oil workers in Central Alberta shared a $54.3 million jackpot.

Tickets for this Wednesday’s LOTTO 6/49 draw are available until 8:30 p.m. on the evening of the draw at all Lotto Spot locations, Subscription Spot and the Lotto Spot app.
