Wildfire update: Beauval set to lift mandatory evacuation

REGINA  - While crews continue to battle wildfires in northern Saskatchewan, there is a some hopeful news to report for one community.

The latest word is that Beauval is set to lift its mandatory evacuation order tomorrow.

According to the Beauval Emergency Operations Centre on Facebook, they announced yesterday that the “mandatory evac will be lifted on schedule on July 30th 2025.”

“The state of local emergency will remain until Aug 6 2025 to assist priority 1&2s remain evacuated. Buses will be arranged for transport on Wednesday morning.”

Those returning are being advised that Beauval is “still set up as a central fire response base and we are hosting firefighters from all over the globe. A community curfew will remain in place from 11 p.m. - 6 a.m. - this means no foot or vehicle traffic in the community for non-essential personnel.”

As for the latest numbers currently posted on the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency page, as of 4 p.m. there are 57 active wildfires in Saskatchewan.

Of those fires, three are contained, 12 not contained, 27 are ongoing assessment and 15 protecting values. There are 11 communities currently under evacuation.
