11 year old seriously injured in early morning shooting in Regina

Regina police say the 11-year-old female suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital.

REGINA — An early morning shooting in Regina has left a child with serious injuries.

According to the Regina Police Service (RPS), at approximately 2 a.m. on Aug. 11, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Edgar Street.

When police arrived, an 11-year-old female was found inside the residence with gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

So far, police have confirmed multiple gunshots were fired outside the residence. The investigation continues. The RPS says there is no risk to the public at this time.

Police are asking anyone in the area of the 1000 block of Edgar Street with video surveillance from the past 24 hours to contact RPS investigators at 306-777-6500.
