REGINA — The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is marking its 90 years of operations on Thursday.

According to a press release,  the Federated Co-operatives Ltd. (FCL), owner of CRC, will welcome current and past employees, along with stakeholders, dignitaries and community members for the official ceremony.

“Today is a day of celebration — a time to recognize and reflect on nine decades of CRC's proud and storied history of fuelling Western Canada,“ said Heather Ryan, FCL CEO.

Ryan also said this milestone is a testament to how far the company has come.

“As we mark 90 years, we honour a remarkable journey — from humble beginnings to becoming one of Canada’s largest integrated refining and upgrading complexes,” said Jen Stiglitz, VP of manufacturing, FCL.

FCL said over 6 million litres of fuel are sold each year via the CRC, as it serves as a reliable and trusted fuel supplier for the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).

The refinery also produces 17 million litres of fuel that are distributed each day, which serves over 650 CRS  communities across Canada.

CRC reached its 90-year milestone on May 28.
