REGINA — The Shaping Inclusive Communities Conference is coming soon to Regina Sept. 5-6, with over 90 per cent of tickets already sold.

Per SaskAbilities', the two-day conference is a unique event bringing speakers across the province to talk about the different stages of life for those with disabilities.

Keynote presentations will be delivered by Dr. Temple Grandin, a disability rights advocate, and Madison Tevlin, who starred in the movie Champions.

There will also be four interactive panel discussions which will showcase the innovation happening in Canada. This is supporting individuals experiencing disability and their families.

“The event will also include a tradeshow, featuring 30 exhibitors, including businesses operated by or for those experiencing disability and service organizations offering support in our communities,” the release said.

Aleks Hoeber, conference co-chair and regional director of SaskAbilities’ Yorkton Branch said this conference is exceeding the organizations expectations.

“[Seeing] these speakers and tradeshow exhibitors come together to spark ideas, share stories and celebrate the many ways we are making Saskatchewan more inclusive. It’s a chance for people experiencing disability, families and caregivers to connect, learn and feel inspired by what’s possible in our communities.”

Tickets still on sale until Aug. 15.

The conference is taking place at the Queensbury Convention Centre.
