REGINA — The City of Regina is inviting residents to celebrate community pride at I Love Regina Day, happening this Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Victoria Park.
Now in its 22nd year, the event brings together families, neighbours and visitors for a full day of free entertainment, activities and local showcases.
Mayor Chad Bachynski says the celebration is all about what makes Regina special.
“I Love Regina Day is a celebration of everything that makes our city extraordinary — the people, the pride and the sense of community that brings us together,” said Bachynski. “Victoria Park will come alive with music, food, activities and fun.”
The day kicks off with the I Love Regina Run and Walk at 8:30 a.m., featuring 3K, 5K and 10K accessible routes for runners, walkers and wheelers of all ages. The race finishes in Victoria Park, where the main festivities begin.
Highlights include:
-
Free barbecue (while supplies last)
-
Bouncy castles and face painting
-
Live performances from local talent, headlined by Regina’s own The Down Home Boys
-
Interactive exhibits from more than 50 community organizations
-
Hands-on experiences with city services, including Regina Fire & Protective Services
Whether you’re a lifelong resident or new to the Queen City, organizers say I Love Regina Day is a chance to connect, celebrate and enjoy everything the city has to offer.
