Symptoms of measles can include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, fatigue, irritability, and small white spots (Koplik spots) inside the mouth. A red, blotchy rash typically appears on the face before spreading down the body, usually three to seven days after other symptoms begin. The rash may last between four to seven days.

The SHA reminds the public that measles is highly contagious and encourages those at risk to take appropriate precautions.
