FORT QU'APPELLE — Next week, Ckeekuk Days are starting for the Muscowpetung.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, the First Nation group will have a welcome home ceremony for those who haven’t been home and others who have never been to the nation.
Ceremonies begin in the morning at 10 a.m., with children in care returning home, including some from Alberta and B.C.
These children will be welcomed by martriarchs, the chief and council.
Following this is the grand entry at 12 p.m. and then at 1 p.m, all members from afar will be honoured in a ceremony being walked in by the chief and council.
The Muscowpetung welcomes people to attend the ceremony for their first annual traditional pow wow.
More events will also occur throughout the week.
