Regina area sees lower police-reported crime levels in 2024

REGINA – The Regina Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) recorded a seven per cent decrease in its total crime rate in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to the latest data from Statistics Canada.

The report, released today, shows Regina’s crime rate fell from 7,988 incidents per 100,000 population in 2023 to 7,503 in 2024. Among Canada’s 41 CMAs, Regina now ranks ninth, positioning it alongside other mid-sized cities in terms of police-reported crime levels.

The findings are part of a broader national snapshot of crime trends in the Crime Severity Index (CSI).
