REGINA — Regina police have laid charges against nine individuals in connection with a major auto theft investigation that began earlier this month.
On Aug. 9, police received a report that six vehicles had been stolen from a business in the 500 block of 12th Avenue East. The caller believed the theft occurred overnight. The approximate value of the stolen vehicles was upwards of $130,000.
Investigators with the Regina Police Service Property Crimes Unit launched an investigation. Over the next six days, officers recovered four of the six stolen vehicles and, at this time, have charged nine people in relation to the theft.
Douglas Natomagan, 32, of Pinehouse, Sask., has been charged with break and enter to commit theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
Logan Natomagan, 31, also of Pinehouse, faces two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one over and one under $5,000.
Dalton Hanson, 32, of Pinehouse, is charged with break and enter to commit theft and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Kent Misponas, 30, of Pinehouse, faces one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Glenda McCallum, 35, of Pinehouse, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, as well as fraud over $5,000.
William Smith, 28, of Pinehouse, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Chase Rediron, 20, of Pinehouse, faces multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, and theft under $5,000.
Shawn Misponas, 25, also of Pinehouse, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, and theft under $5,000.
Mario Natomagan, 25, of Pinehouse, is charged with break and enter to commit theft and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Rediron and Misponas made their first appearances in Regina Provincial Court on Aug. 11. The following day, Douglas Natomagan, Logan Natomagan, Hanson, Misponas, McCallum and Smith appeared in court. Mario Natomagan is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Sept. 25.
