A game between the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders had to wait a day for wildfire smoke to clear from the area around Mosaic Stadium.

REGINA - Following Friday’s postponement of the Canadian Football League game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Calgary Stampeders due to air quality, contingency plans were put in place for the game to be played on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium. However, the fan experience was adjusted.

All tickets for Friday’s game were valid on Saturday.

With a short turnaround, many concessionaires and vendors were not be able to restock their food offerings. While modest food offerings were to be available, fans were encouraged to bring their own snacks into the Stadium. Non-alcoholic drinks are also approved, provided they are sealed and no larger than 1L.

Rider Transit was to operate as usual, with buses begin running 1 hour and 45 minutes before kickoff, with the last bus departing from each location 30 minutes before game time. Return service was to begin at the start of the fourth quarter and continues for 75 minutes after the game.

All locations — including Southland Mall, the University of Regina, the Turvey Centre, Victoria Avenue, and Scarth Stree — were to be operational. Due to construction on Dewdney Avenue, the Warehouse District stops have been relocated to 6th Avenue & Rose Street and 8th Avenue & Scarth Street.

Parking passes purchased for the July 11th game were valid on July 12th.

Stadium vendors (excluding the Rider Store and Ticket Office) weren't able accept cash payments.

The gates for Saturday’s game opened at 1:30 p.m., but there was no party in the park.

Fans who were at yesterday's game were to receive a token of appreciation from the Riders.

An agreement between the CFL and CFL Players’ Association dictates that games cannot be played if the Air Quality Health Index is higher than seven. For most of Friday night, it was above 10, but Environment Canada says the index dropped to four in Regina by Saturday noon.
