REGINA – Police arrested a 17-year-old male youth following a stabbing that left a man injured in the 1000 block of Arnason Street Sunday night.

Officers were called around 6 p.m. on June 8 after reports of an injured man. The victim, who had sustained multiple stab wounds, approached a bystander and asked for emergency medical help. Police and EMS arrived quickly, transporting the victim to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators got a description of the suspect and, shortly after, spotted a male matching the details walking southbound on Arnason Street. The youth was taken into custody without incident. A search revealed he was carrying a knife.

The accused, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, carrying a concealed weapon, and failing to comply with a release order and a court order. He appeared in Regina youth court Monday morning.
