U of R names Cadmus Delorme new chancellor

REGINA — The University of Regina (U of R) has announced that Cadmus Delorme has been elected as the school's new chancellor.

Delorme has been associated with the U of R for over 15 years in various roles, including recently serving as the chair of the board of governors.

He is also the former Chief of the Cowessess First Nation and founder of OneHoop Advisory Services. This service contributes to community development, economic growth, and reconciliation initiatives., said the U of R.

“Education is foundational to building resilient, inclusive communities. I am honoured to serve as the tenth chancellor of the University of Regina,” said Delorme. 

He added, “I look forward to empowering and advancing the university's continued commitment to reconciliation, innovation, and academic excellence.

The U of R senate selects a chancellor for a third-year term, with a possibility of one additional term.

“Cadmus’s deep ties to our institution, combined with his expertise in governance and profound commitment to education and reconciliation, make him an inspired – and inspiring – choice to serve as chancellor,” said Dr. Jeff Keshen, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Regina.

Delorme term as chancellor begins on July 1. He will take over for current chancellor Pam Klein.
