Altercation ends in hit and run, one hospitalized

Saskatoon police were called to a parking lot in the 100 block of Nelson Road, where they found a large group of youth and an injured male.

SASKATOON — An 18-year-old male is in hospital with serious injuries following a hit-and-run collision just after midnight Wednesday.

Police were called to a parking lot in the 100 block of Nelson Road, where they found a large group of youth and the injured male. He was transported to hospital for treatment. 

Witnesses reported to police that the male had been on foot in the parking lot when an altercation occurred and a vehicle struck him. The vehicle then left the scene, however, a short time later, the driver of the vehicle contacted officers and was taken into custody.  

Charges are pending as members of the Collision Analyst Unit investigate.
