SASKATOON — Two Saskatoon men, ages 21 and 32, are facing charges following two armed robberies in the city Monday.

At approximately 10 a.m., Aug. 4, police were called to a liquor store at Warman Road and Assiniboine Drive where a staff member reported that two males had entered the store with what was believed to be a weapon, stole some items and fled in a green Ford Bronco. While investigating, officers received a report of another robbery taking place at a gas station in the 800 block of 22nd Street West. Staff there similarly reported that two males entered the store and threatened them with a firearm before stealing items and fleeing in a green Ford Bronco.

A short time later, a patrol officer located a vehicle matching the description outside an apartment building in the 200 block of Avenue V South. After some negotiation, and with members of the Tactical Support Unit and Canine Unit on the scene, the suspects exited the residence

No one was physically injured during the incidents.

The Ford Bronco was found to be stolen and further charges are pending.

Both men are facing charges of armed robbery. The 32 year old is also facing charges of wearing a disguise, possession of a firearm and had outstanding warrants of arrest.
