SASKATOON - A man has been charged following a traffic stop last week.
At around 10 a.m. on April 25, a member of the Traffic Unit conducting enforcement in the area of 20th Street West and Avenue L South stopped a vehicle for a traffic-related offence. While conducting the investigation, the officer observed a passenger attempting to conceal something in the rear seat.
Following a continued investigation with support from the Crime Reduction Team, police located and seized:
- 89 grams of ketamine
- Collapsible baton
- Cell phones
- Assorted paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
As a result, a 26-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breach of probation.
Two tickets were also issued under the Traffic Safety Act, and the vehicle was impounded.
