SASKATOON – Lawson Heights Mall is continuing its partnership with Kids Help Phone (KHP) for CHECK-IN! Back to School 2025.

With a series of activities and opportunities to give back, this initiative is designed to raise awareness around youth mental well-being during the transition into the new school year.

CHECK-IN! encourages everyone to take a moment to connect and offer encouragement. Whether it’s a conversation, a kind word, or a shared moment, checking in can make a meaningful impact.

This year's campaign will feature a lineup of activations both online and on-site at Morguard shopping centres nationwide, including Lawson Heights Mall.

Until Sept.14 | Before the food court

A brightly designed locker display will be set up inside the centre, covered with stickers that offer motivational messages and thoughtful advice. Shoppers can pick the message that speaks to them most for a chance to win a

$200 shopping spree at Lawson Heights Mall. All entries will also qualify for the grand prize draw of a $2,000 shopping spree.

CHECK-IN! Pencil Me-In!

Sept. 6 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

A hands-on and expressive activity where participants can customize their own pencil case, positive affirmation cards and customize a positive daily message magnet using provided art supplies. This fun, back-to-school giveaway encourages creativity, self-expression and confidence to kick off the school year. Participants also have a chance to win swag and one of five backpacks filled with over $400 in prizes.

This year Lawson Heights Mall will be hitting the road and taking Pencil Me In! to the students at Lawson Heights Elementary School. Students from Grades 5 through 8 will have the opportunity to take part in the activation and activities in their classroom, while learning the importance of checking in on friends, family and themselves.
