SASKATOON – A 26-year-old Saskatoon man is facing charges following a reported disturbance earlier today.
At about 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, Saskatoon Police Service officers were called to a store in the 100 block of Confederation Drive.
It was reported that a man was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man acting erratically.
He refused to comply with police commands and appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant. As officers were attempting to bring him into custody, the male began physically harming himself. In the process two officers suffered minor injuries and a Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed.
He was taken to Royal University Hospital where he is receiving treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries.
He is charged with two counts of assaulting peace officers and causing a disturbance. He was also wanted for arrest on a charge of aggravated assault.
