SASKATOON — A 28-year-old man has been charged with six drug trafficking- and firearms-related charges following the conclusion of a drug trafficking investigation.
At around 10:30 a.m. on July 10, members of the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support and VICE Units, arrested a man in the area of Circle Drive East and Warman Road who was believed to be trafficking cocaine. Following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at an address in the 700 block of Delainey Court. As a result of investigation, the following seizures were made;
- 1.95 grams of cocaine
- $23,780 CAD
- Semi-automatic 9mm handgun (prohibited)
Saskatoon Police Service also says, in another case, three men were arrested following the conclusion of a drug trafficking investigation.
At around 11:30 p.m. on July 4, members of the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit, with the assistance of the Tactical Support and Warrant Enforcement Units, conducted a traffic stop in the area of Circle Drive West and 11th Street West and arrested multiple persons. On July 5, search warrants were subsequently executed at addresses in the 1500 block of Shannon Crescent and 6000 block of Clarence Avenue South; the following evidentiary seizures were made;
- 377 grams of cocaine
- 7.74 grams of methamphetamine
- 48x hydromorphone pills
- $4,660 CAD
- Prohibited semi-automatic 9mm handgun (x2)
As a result, three men, age 23, 29, and 31, are facing a combined 19 drug trafficking- and firearms-related charges. One of the men was also breaching a conditional sentence order.
In another arrest, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia as a result of a traffic stop.
On July 8, a Saskatoon Police Service CTSS (Combined Traffic Service Saskatchewan) officer was conducting speed enforcement on Valley Road. Along with members from the Corman Park and Vanscoy Police Service, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle that did not have a license plate. Further investigation revealed that the occupants were in possession of a number of stolen drivers licenses, birth certificates, treaty cards, forged cheques, and forged documents. Numerous drugs and drug paraphernalia were also located inside the vehicle.
A 42-year-old male was arrested and charged with 17 criminal code violations including, identity theft, fraud, forgery, possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, and breach of release conditions. In addition to these charges, he was also arrested on a number of outstanding warrants.
The driver, a 33-year-old male, was issued three tickets related to the traffic stop, and the vehicle was impounded for 60 days.
