Police seize firearm following weapons complaint

SASKATOON - Multiple people were arrested following a report of a man armed with a firearm yesterday.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on June 25, police were called to the 1400 block of Avenue E North for a report of a man in possession of a firearm. Further investigation found that a tow truck operator had attended to a residence to move two vehicles when approached by a man brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival, officers located several persons. Following the continued investigation, one man was found to be in possession of a firearm and an imitation firearm.

As a result, a 41-year-old man has been charged with carrying a restricted weapon in a careless manner, unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of a weapon while prohibited (x2). Four other persons were arrested on outstanding warrants.
