SASKATOON — A 32-year-old Beauval woman is facing charges following a theft and evade police incident.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., July 28, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at a gas station in the 100 block of Stonebridge Boulevard. Upon arrival, they learned that the occupants of a GMC SUV had stolen gas before leaving the scene.
Officers located the vehicle nearby and attempted a traffic stop, however the driver refused to comply. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed onto Circle Drive.
It was monitored overhead from the SPS Air Support Unit, which directed ground units to the 800 block of Appleby Drive. The driver was taken into custody at the scene and is facing charges of evading police, theft under $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and breach of probation.
A search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating illegal cigarettes, open alcohol, baggies of what appeared to be cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
