SASKATOON — Average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon are 133.67 c/L, down 0.7 c/L from last Sunday's 134.37 c/L., according to GasBuddy. This compares with the national average that has increased 1.6 c/L in the last week to 136.16 c/L, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
"With Israel and Iran trading attacks, oil prices have surged to multi-month highs—setting the stage for additional price increases at gas pumps across Canada," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "As long as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, the risk of further impacts on oil prices remains elevated. For now, I expect gasoline prices in Canada could rise by 5 to 10 cents per litre, while diesel could climb 10 to 15 cents per litre in the coming days. Motorists should prepare for what will likely be modest increases at the pump—for now—but the situation could worsen quickly depending on how geopolitical developments unfold."
The national average has decreased 3.1 c/L during the last month and stands 22.2 c/L lower than this day one year ago.
