SASKATOON — Not ideal during a heat spell, the city’s paddling pool located in Silverwood Heights between St. Angela’s and Brownell Schools, has been closed due to a main water line leak.
“There is a sizeable leak on the main water line entering WJL Harvey Park that feeds both the Silverwood Paddling Pool and irrigation. We are working with irrigation to have this repaired, and they are currently waiting for parts. The estimated time for repair is Tuesday, July 15. The water cannot be turned on until the leak has been repaired," said facilities management for the City of Saskatoon in response to SaskToday's inquiry.
City parks and recreation’s website shows there are 30 paddling pools throughout Saskatoon, along with 23 spray parks.
Fortunately, not far through the WJL Harvey Park, there is a spray pad between the two schools on Silverwood Road that is fully operational. Neighbourhood residents have another close option with a paddling pool in the Lawson Heights area at Rochdale Park located on Redberry Road.
