SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service is reminding motorists that this coming weekend is the annual Rock 102 Show and Shine.
The show and shine portion of this event is held on Sunday, Aug. 17, and there will be traffic restrictions in the downtown area for most of the day.
While not a sanctioned event, traffic and pedestrian volumes increase on 8th Street during the evening hours on this particular weekend. Motorists using 8th Street are asked to be patient and cautious. All traffic laws, bylaws, and regulations will be enforced with a zero-tolerance approach.
The SPS will be maintaining a high-profile presence downtown, on 8th Street, and in adjacent parking lots over the weekend to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety. Road restrictions will be in place to facilitate a safer flow of traffic as required.
