Suspects face weapons charges after incident in Saskatoon

SASKATOON - Multiple people were arrested following a report of a person armed with a firearm yesterday morning in Saskatoon.

At around 7 a.m. on May 14, police were called to the 90 block of Carlton Drive for a report of a person armed with a firearm outside a residence before entering inside.

Upon arrival, officers surrounded the residence and began calling out the occupants within.

Several people were taken into police custody for further investigation and, following the execution of a search warrant, two imitation firearms and a rifle were located inside the residence.

Through the investigation, officers were also able to view video evidence that showed one of the arrested persons in possession of what was later determined to be an imitation firearm.

As a result, a 23-year-old man was charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and unauthorized carry of a concealed weapon, a 29-year-old man was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions, and another 29-year-old man had outstanding warrants executed upon his arrest.
