SASKATOON - This week, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged two Saskatoon men with child exploitation offences.
The investigations are not related to one another.
In the first case, the Saskatchewan ICE Unit commenced an investigation relating to child pornography in January. On June 3, the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Saskatoon. Electronic devices were seized and examined by investigators.
As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old man, from Saskatoon, was charged on June 10 with the following:
- Possession of child pornography (x2)
- Make available child pornography (x2)
He appeared in court on June 11 and was released on numerous court-imposed conditions. His next court appearance is July 16 at 9:30 a.m. in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
In the second case, the Saskatchewan ICE Unit commenced a child exploitation investigation relating to child pornography in April. On June 4, the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Saskatoon. Electronic devices were seized and examined by investigators.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old man, from Saskatoon, was charged on June 10 with the following:
- Make child pornography
- Possession of child pornography
- Make available child pornography
He appeared in court on June 11 and was released on numerous court-imposed conditions. His next court appearance is on July 8 at 9:30 a.m. in Saskatoon Provincial Court.
