Producers have made significant harvest progress, due in large part to the warm and dry weather, Saskatchewan Agriculture reported for the week ending September 11.

Saskatchewan Party leadership candidate Alanna Koch stopped in Mossbank and Assiniboia to meet agricultural producers and community members on September 13. Koch also dropped into the Assiniboia Times office for an interview on a range of topics.

Submitted by Jacylyn Gibson The Assiniboia and District Multiple 4-H Club held its Achievement Day on Sunday, August 13 at the Assiniboia Agriplex. The day started with a demonstration from the members of the Archery Project.

Jody Feicht from the Southern Independent Riders presented a donation to Darlene Wasyluk, manager of the Salvation Army, from the SIR’s 18th annual Toyker Run held on August 26.

A total of 3,330 head of cattle were sold in Saskatchewan the week ending September 1. This number is down from 4,132 head sold the previous reporting week, and down from 3,793 head the same week a year ago, Saskatchewan Agriculture reported.

The Assiniboia and District Arts Council opens its 2017-2018 Stars for Saskatchewan concert series on Friday, September 29 with “Oh, Canada, We Sing for Thee!” The concert features acclaimed Canadian songstress Leisa Way and it starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Assiniboia and District Library had an information table at the community registration night on September 7 at the Prince of Wales Centre in Assiniboia.

Assiniboia held its second annual community registration night on September 7 at the Prince of Wales Auditorium. Over 20 local groups and organizations set up tables with displays and information.
