With all due respect to those fighting health care battles in rural Saskatchewan, you probably have already lost the fight if you only are only staring your fight when the closure announcement is made.Of course, this mistake is understandable.

Judy Feduk closed up Mi-Lady Fashions for the last time Aug. 7. After 20 good years in the women's fashion business in Carlyle, she simply decided "it was time.

The links at Carlyle Golf Club was a sea of pink recently, and it wasn't spring blossoms that brought on the flood of colour.

I am a lot of things. I am a talker, a raconteur, a teller of stories. I can be, I am told, fairly engaging company. I am especially interesting to women who are, as the saying goes, "of a certain age".

Carlyle is going to be one of 45 communities across Canada to offer a new CanSkate pilot program this fall. The pilot program will focus on progressing through stages at a skater's own pace by building on each skill as it is learned.

The Cornerstone Family and Youth (CFY) organization, which is responsible for many of the quality events held for families and young people in the town of Carlyle, is proud to present to the public their latest offering, 'The Playroom.

The word prison conjures up different images for different people. For the majority of us, when we think of prison we think of large stone buildings, surrounded by high walls and decorated with iron bars.

Karmen Coffey is a hard hitter. She was second on her team - The Falcons - with five home runs and 18 RBI, adding 20 runs scored. She also posted a 3.68 GPA at Bowling Green University, where she has played softball for the past two seasons.

In order to keep the public better informed in regards to the role the RCMP plays in the surrounding communities, the Observer will sit down with a member of the RCMP detachment in Carlyle each week to talk about what has been going on in the area.
