ESTEVAN - Demolition will start Monday at 1301 Fifth Street in Estevan - the former Kal Tire location.

The City of Estevan traffic accommodation plan consists of single lane, south-bound traffic in the 1300-block of 13th Avenue with no right-hand turning lane access onto Fourth Street. The back alley of TD bank is closed as well.

The 1300-block west sidewalk is closed for pedestrian traffic. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 kilometres per hour.

People are asked to be aware of truck traffic turning off Fifth Street.

The public is requested to avoid this area and find an alternate route during this time. Everyone is reminded to follow all construction signage and be aware of moving equipment and construction workers for everyone’s safety.

The City of Estevan announced in January that the Business Improvement District, along with additional funding from the city, had secured the lots previously occupied by Kal Tire for future development.
