ESTEVAN — Estevan Kinettes made a significant donation to the Estevan Public Youth Centre.

Friday afternoon Kinettes Krissy Wallman, Diana Schlingmann and Susan Colbow, who is also vice-chair with EPYC, stopped by the youth centre to present them with a $5,000 cheque.

The money was accumulated through the Kinettes' annual Cash Calendar fundraiser last year. Colbow said they wanted to give back to the community, so they decided to support EPYC this time.

"They're new, and they're just starting out, so we thought that would be a good place to put our money," Colbow said.

And it was a timely donation, as EPYC is in need of some new furniture for patrons to come in and relax. And if there are any funds left afterwards, they also hope to buy some games to keep the centre exciting for the youths.

EPYC executive director Juli Dzuba said they also were able to acquire a drum set recently, which was donated to them.

She added that they had a lot of patrons coming in and enjoying their facility through the summer, and they are looking forward to continuing with their programming in the new school year. EPYC welcomes youth to stop by, check out the facility and probably find some friends or just enjoy many different games and the place itself.

The latest Estevan Kinettes’ November Cash Calendar is now underway, raising money for different community organizations. For more details visit the Estevan Kinette Club Facebook page.
