CARLYLE - Fall sports are rolling at Gordon F. Kells (GFK) High School.

This year there are five volleyball teams: junior girls (Grades 7 and 8), another junior girls team (Grades 7 and 8), junior boys (Grades 7-9), senior girls and senior boys.

All teams are midway through their seasons and have been practising hard, playing games and attending tournaments.

Cross country running is nearing the end of its season. Mitch Himmelspach will be representing our school at provincials in Humboldt. He ran five kilometres in 21 minutes and 49 seconds to win first place in a field of 14 runners. Good luck Mitch.

Golf season has come and gone already.  We had athletes at the junior and senior levels for golf. All represented GFK well throughout the season.

The fitness club continues to run three times a week; Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch hour and Wednesdays at 7:45 a.m. This club is open to all fitness levels – come on out.

Hayden Miller won the pumpkin pie eating contest held this week with an impressive time of 3:42. The student leadership team has a spooktacular week planned for Halloween – details to come.
