Regina Symphony concert to perform at Weyburn library

The Weyburn Public Library has a range of activities and programs for all ages in March.

WEYBURN - A performance by the Regina Symphony Chamber Players will be a highlight at the Weyburn Public Library in March, with a number of activities and classes coming up for all ages.

The Chamber Players will perform on Saturday, March 11 at the library, starting at 2 p.m., and they will play a lineup of music suitable for all ages.

The library will feature family movies, once a month, on Saturdays through the spring, on March 25, April 22 and May 26.

The Lego Club will also be held once a month, on March 11 at 10 a.m., April 8 at 2 p.m. and May 6 at 10 a.m. An English conversation circle for newcomers to Weyburn and area will be held on Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. on March 17, April 14 and May 12 and 26.

A “day off from school” activity for children aged six to 12 will be held on Friday, March 17 from 2-4 p.m.

The junior chef program will be held on March 9 and 23, featuring spaghetti and meatballs. A “Terrific Thursday” set of activities is also planned, with freestyle art creations on March 9; “welcome spring” activities on March 16 and Lego on March 23.

For tweens, the Tween Chef program will be held on March 8 and 21 featuring beef stew. The Tween book club will be held on March 30, and features “The Penderwicks”.

The cooking class for teens, Kitchen Chemistry, will be held on March 18 featuring mango dessert tacos. The anime and manga club will be on March 10 at 4 p.m.

The teens’ day-off school activity on March 17 will feature making shamrock shakes.

A Mario Kart tournament for adults will be held on March 18 at 2:30 p.m., and a game night is set for March 22 at 6:30 p.m.

A class in making Ukrainian Easter eggs will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 2:30 p.m., and a watercolours class is set for March 18 at 10:30 a.m.

The adult book club, featuring the novel, “The Queen’s Gambit” by Walter Tevis, will be discussed on March 14 at 6:30 p.m.
