Tyler Willer passed away in a tragic ATV accident on October 25, 2015 . In remembrance of Tyler, the fourth annual Tyler Memorial Quad Derby will be held on April 6. Those wishing to participate in the ride are welcome register at the Assiniboia Agriplex. There will be a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Registration costs $10 per machine and a hot dog lunch will be served on the trail.
All of the money raised through the derby will go to the Tyler Willer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Each year, $1000 will be awarded to an individual at the Assiniboia Composite High School for those who are entering into farm-related careers or trades after graduation.
If you don’t have a machine, you can still participate in the derby. Additionally, poker hands and 50/50 tickets can be purchased ahead of time by calling Steph VanDeSype at 306-642-3600. There is a 100 per cent payout of these poker hands.
Afterwards, everyone is invited for supper at Steakhouse 121 following the ride for a $10 per plate Willer Special of fries, wings and salad.
