Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Really time goes so fast. Christmas Day is just a couple of days ahead. Beginning with Dickens Village Festival, the month of December seems to be filled with Christmas festivals and parties hosted by the community and each family. Indeed Christmas means a lot to everyone.
Although Christmas season seems to have become the season of greetings and holidays under the influence of commercialism and secularism, but the Spirit of Christmas will never fade away so long as the world keeps December 25 as Christmas Day. On the first Christmas Day, when Christ Jesus was born to the world, "the angel a multitude of the heavenly host (army) praising God and saying 'Glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth peace among those whom he favours (peace, goodwill among people)" (Luke 2:13-14). "Glory to God and peace and goodwill among people," this should be the forever motto and slogan for the whole humanity and the whole world regardless of any people and any religion on the earth.
Thus the one clear reason and purpose of the birth of Jesus, "God has become a human being" 'Incarnation,' is to give the true peace and goodwill to the whole people of the world. Indeed when peace, the true and genuine peace that has come from the birth of Jesus Christ, dwells in each one's heart, home, community and every corner of the world, then the goodwill of God for God's creation will be done as it is in heaven. In this uncertain, unsafe and insecure world in which we are living now, let us try to be a peace maker as we celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus who is the Prince of Peace.
