Variety of Christmas activities at the Weyburn library

WEYBURN - A wide range of activities and events for Christmas will be featured at the Weyburn Public Library in December.

The Cookies, Crafts and Carols event will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., featuring the RISE choir from the Weyburn Comp School singing carols.

The library board will have cookies available, and the library will have craft activities for all ages to enjoy.

A STEM think tank for children will be held on Dec. 6, of an egg in a bottle, and the Christmas STEM activity will be held on Dec. 20, both at 4 p.m.

A Makerspace mania time will held for children aged seven to 12 on Dec. 5, and adventure gaming will be held on Dec. 14 for the same age group, both days at 4 p.m.

A kids craft time for children aged six to eight will make coffee filter wreaths on Dec. 8, and a junior chef time on Dec. 12 will have the children make holiday bark.

For those aged nine to 12, a craft time to make snow globes will be held on Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. A tween chef time on Dec. 19 will make holiday bark, and the tween book club will meet on Dec. 15 to talk about the book, Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing.

For teenagers, a paint pouring class with Alexis Christensen will be held on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.

A teens’ Kitchen Chemistry class, making Christmas goodies, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. For STEM projects, a class in salt watercolour painting will be held on Dec. 5.

For adults, there will be a cannabis information night on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m., with expert Tony Marinari. This is for those aged 18 and up. Parents may bring teenagers, but they need to be 16 or older.

A watercolour cards session will be held on Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m., and a woodburning ornaments class is slated for Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

For the adult book club, “Hercule Poirot’s Christmas” will be discussed on Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

An adult cooking class will be held with Sherry Klemmer, who will teach how to make the Ukrainian dish, Nalysnyky, on Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
