A recent kids' afternoon was a popular attraction.
Town of Wawota
New residents have arrived in Wawota.

WAWOTA - John Trinidad, who travelled home to the Philippines several months ago, has returned to Wawota. He was accompanied by his mother Josefina Trinidad and his 15-year-old daughter Jihan Camille Trinidad.

Josefina will stay in Canada until January while she visits with son Jordan and family. Jihan will remain in Wawota with her dad. Welcome, Jihan.

Eleven children attended the kids' afternoon on Aug. 2. The theme was rocks, the three different categories and the many uses of rocks. Tammie Bunz brought a geoid which she broke open to reveal the hidden crystals inside.

Primary and secondary colours were discussed. The craft was mixing colours and painting rocks. Lunch was puffed wheat and Rice Krispies cake and juice.

Roy Bortolotto and Barbara Wilkens have returned from a trip to Europe from July 11-23.

They visited Munich, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna and Salzburg. A highlight of the trip was attending the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany.

A celebration of life for the late Norma (Howarth) Struble was held on July 28 at the Wawota Drop-In Centre. She passed away on Nov. 19, 2020, at the age of  83 years.
