A curler has been thriving.

WAWOTA - Congratulations to Hanna Johnson, who is a member of the Madison Kleiter rink. They along with Kya Kennedy and Rianna Kish won the right to represent Saskatchewan in the Junior Ladies Playdowns. They were in Martensville last week and will travel to Strasbourg, Ont., in early March. 

Born to Ben and Amy Brown, a daughter, on Feb. 11. June Addlea weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces, and is a sister for Maximus. She is also a granddaughter for Dean and Dienna McConnell of Hamiota, Barry and Karen Brown of Oak Lake and Ruth Brown of Vancouver.

Kara Bunz, Emma and Olivia enjoyed a three-day trip to the West Edmonton Mall during the winter break.

Born to Tag and Brittany Clemence, a daughter on Feb. 22. Aubrey Violet Kathleen weighed six pounds, six ounces, and is a sister for Georgia and Waylon. She is a granddaughter for Jim and Deanna Attrux, and Jim Clemence, and a great-granddaughter for Gordon and Kathleen Moore, Armand and Irene Attrux, Jim and Jean Doud, Herbert and Violet Bousfield, and Murray and Melita Clemence.

The Shawn Murray family visited with Sierra Murray in Calgary during spring break.

Sympathy to the family of Garnet Cuddington, who passed away on Feb. 23. He lived in Manor and was 62 years old. He is survived by his partner, Kim Cook, and family Shane (Val) and Shawn (Dawn) and their families. His funeral service was held at the Manor Legion Hall on March 5. Internment in Cannington Manor Cemetery.

Ross and Joanne spent the week of Feb. 19 and 20 in Regina. They visited with Dave and Heather Yanko, Rowan and Nolan and attended several of the boys’ hockey games.

 

Happy birthday to Ian Laird on his 70th birthday on Feb. 26. Teachers never lose their class.
