CORONACH - The Town of Coronach recently announced the launch of their newly developed online learning platform for small businesses in Coronach and region. The e-learning hub will provide relevant, on-demand e-courses to business owners as they start, grow and pivot their businesses. This initiative has been spearheaded by the Town of Coronach and is supported by Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan).

“Retaining our businesses and helping entrepreneurs to start new companies is critical to our community. Supporting our businesses through the coal transition is priority for the Town,” comments Kelsey Manske, Community Development Officer for the Town of Coronach.

“We conducted a Business Survey early in the process, to identify what our businesses needed and then developed programs to support them. With so many changes taking place in a short time frame, our business owners have a lot to deal with. They’re eager to pivot their operations, and will definitely benefit from support, information and ideas on how to do that,” said Manske.

“Rather that attending business courses in-person, we innovated and developed an online learning platform where they can access business micro-sessions on demand, when they need it.”

This modern approach to business course delivery recognizes the shift in demand by learners. Using this convenient, engaging, online platform, the Town of Coronach is making quality learning content available 24/7 to their business community. As well, businesses are encouraged to stay connected to the Town’s Community Development Officer for additional business supports.

“We’ll have relevant, high-quality resources in our e-learning hub, addressing topics such as the steps to starting a business, how to write a Business Plan, how to use social media marketing tools, strategies to increase a company’s profitability, and more,” comments Manske.

“All of the topics will address the requests made by our business community. We’re excited to provide this customized approach to assist our businesses.”
