REGINA — Regina Police Service has cancelled an amber alert in the disappearance of a two-year-old child. Police said they believed the child was taken by Kerry Keewatin, his biological mother and now say the female subject was taken into custody without incident at approximately 6 p.m.

Regina Police Service said in a release that shortly before 4:30 a.m., Sunday morning, police were dispatched to an address in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue for a report that a woman showed up and was believed to be trying to remove her biological son, who she did not have custody of. When police arrived, the mother was gone, as was the two year old. Through investigation, it was learned that Kerry Keewatin showed up a short time later at the Regina General Hospital with the child, however left on foot.

The Regina Police Service says it wishes to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
